THE MURAL IS ALMOST FINISHED!! DEDICATION 7/24/2022

On Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Kanawha City Community Association (KCCA) will be dedicating the mural painted by Mallory Burka on the Risk Fas Check Market wall at 5231 MacCorkle Avenue.  This has been a much anticipated project for KCCA and the residents and business of Kanawha City.  We hope many of  you will be able to join us to celebrate.  It has been a labor of love for Mallory to be able to fulfill her dad’s vision of having a mural painted in his home town, Kanawha City.  I have no doubt he is one proud daddy bragging about his amazing daughter to anyone in heaven who will listen!!  We are so appreciative of Richard Risk and his family for giving us the opportunity to add some beautiful art to their building.  We are so sorry that Mr. Risk passed away before he would see the mural completed and will be placing a plaque in his honor in appreciation of all he has done for Kanawha City.  Please contact 304-549-7799 about the event should you have any questions.  Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday.

P.S.  We’re not going to post any more pictures so you will be surprised when you see it live!!

Annual KCCA Community Meeting Goes Viral

Due to an uptick in the Delta Variant/COVID numbers and to protect our community at large, KCCA’s Annual Community Meeting to be held at City National Bank’s Sam Bowling Conference Room on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 7:00 pm, will now offer virtual options using Zoom technology. For those KCCA members who prefer to attend in person, we will have limited seating available and require social distancing and masks to be worn during the meeting.

Please understand that due to social distancing and limited seating, in-person seats will be on a first come, first served basis. If attending via Zoom, please use the link below:
Nancy Guthrie’s Zoom Meeting
When Thu Sep 23, 2021 6:45pm – 8:45pm (EDT)
Where https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3668621333

Additionally, we feel the use of Zoom may impact our ability to conduct a proper election for open seats to the Board of Directors. The current Board members whose terms are expiring will continue to serve until the 2022 election. Any new members wishing to join the Board of Directors will be sent an application and expectations for Board Members. Please email kanawhacitycommunity@gmail.com to request a packet.

A Review Committee has been established on the Board that will oversee the review of applications and make recommendations to the full Board for appointment to open positions. Those members appointed to the Board and the current Board of Directors whose seats are expiring will serve until the 2022 Annual Meeting, where a full member vote will take place.

The remainder of the agenda will be followed as planned. We look forward to meeting with you all and would like to extend our appreciation for your understanding during these difficult times.
